WE'LL MEET THE MEAT
Photojournalism / Book design / Information design
I hail from Kochi, a small coastal city in Kerala. Being born into a Christian family, eating meat is something very usual and natural to me. During Christmas, I used to catch sight of my grandfather slaughtering ducks and chicken at home. As a kid, I never used to think about the emotions or thoughts that they go through when they kill the animals. Considering my childhood experiences, it recently crossed my mind the need to comprehend the psychological impact of slaughtering animals on butchers, which has become a part of their identity, due to the various social, ecological, political, economic and cultural systems that are at play.
